Some acts of service happen in a single day. Others leave behind a message that continues long after the cleanup ends. The International Coastal Cleanup is one such effort, bringing together people and organizations with a shared responsibility to protect our waterways and environment.
On September 19, 2026, the Rotary Club of West Fairview joined the International Coastal Cleanup alongside fellow Rotary clubs from District 3780, SM Cares, and other participating organizations and volunteers. The activity carried the global theme “Clean Seas for Resilient Communities,” highlighting the importance of responsible waste management and collective action in protecting our seas.
The project emphasized that protecting our seas does not end when the cleanup is over. The experience encouraged participants to bring the message of responsible waste management into their homes, workplaces, and communities, inspiring others to reduce waste at its source and become active stewards of the environment.
For the Rotary Club of West Fairview, participating in the International Coastal Cleanup reflects Rotary’s commitment to service beyond the boundaries of our own club. By working together with organizations and communities, we can turn individual actions into collective impact.
Protecting our seas is not the responsibility of one organization or one community. It is a shared commitment, and every action counts.
