GOVERNOR’S MONTHLY LETTER AUGUST 2026 Project Pag-asa: A Second Chance Initiative 2 A Legacy of Hope By: TLP Imelda V. Quimba Some projects end after a successful implementation. Others become a tradition of service. For the Rotary Club of West Fairview, Project Pag-asa has become just that. Now on its second year, Project Pag-asa continues to serve as the club's flagship initiative under Rotary's Area of Focus on Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention. What began during the previous Rotary year has grown into a continuing commitment to remind Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) that hope, dignity, and compassion can open the door to transformation. To mark the beginning of the new Rotary year, Legacy President Imelda Quimba chose to continue this meaningful initiative as her first service project, reinforcing the belief that impactful programs should not end with one Rotary year but should continue to touch lives and strengthen communities. In partnership with the Diocese of Novaliches and local police personnel, club members visited around 30 PDLs, bringing not only meals and rosaries but also something equally meaningful, their presence. The gathering became an opportunity to listen, encourage, and remind the participants that they are more than the mistakes of their past. Through shared conversations, prayers, and fellowship, the activity fostered hope and renewed their sense of self-worth. Project Pag-asa reflects what Rotary does best: building peace through compassion and creating opportunities for people to begin again. As it enters its second year, the initiative stands as a testament to the Rotary Club of West Fairview's belief that lasting impact is created not only by meeting immediate needs but by restoring hope and inspiring change—one person, one family, and one community at a time. Because sometimes, the greatest gift we can offer is the reminder that everyone deserves a second chance. Rotary Club of West Fairview
